The g220blog was initiated with a post dealing with the loss of our first baby during pregnancy. I was moved to write, initially, when the cultural disregard for the unborn collided with the deep sense of loss we felt.
I am not a prolific writer. But I do write when I am moved to do so. Oftentimes, the reasons for writing are a visceral response to a culture that seems increasingly disoriented. Sometimes, I write with my children as my target audience. That’s not a great strategy if someone wants to be a writer. But what I write will long outlive me, and most likely my kids will be the only ones who remember. That is enough.
Finally, we have recently come through a grueling journey with cancer. My wife, and best friend, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer on March 27th, 2014. Her cancer blog, which I also write, can be found at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/valerieaalexander
While this isn’t intended as a cancer blog, there will be occasions in which the ebb and flow of a post-cancer existence compel me to share.
The name g220 is in reference to Galatians 2:20 which says in part
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me…
As a believer, it’s my goal to reflect that truth as I interact with my culture.
Thanks for visiting the g220blog!
